Chances are that if you already own one of these iconic guitars, you bought it from either Terry O'Riley or Nick Cawthorne, both of whom have been dealing in them since the mid 1970's...Both Nick and Terry are experts on the history of the Guitars and the Company, are able to let you know as much as you want on the subject and can make you comfortable that you are buying the right model for your purpose...We keep what is consistently the largest range of Martins in town, with no limit on the value as is often the case with our competition...Simple really, we both own them, we both pick them, we both repair them and we are both very passionate about them...

Our Martin Sales Policy

  • Our Martin Guitars have the appropriate Warranty applicable to the original owner, should you ever need that warranty, we will take care of the red tape for you keeping you updated along the way.
  • We will set up the guitar you select to your requirements, along with new strings prior to your purchase, so that you can evaluate the guitar as it should be.
  • We undertake to carry out any repairwork that is of a maintenance nature, in house and as quickly as possible...For example...Neck adjustments are more obviously needed when the guitar has a fine setup, a fairly low action, affected by weather changes after Spring and Autumn, causing the Truss Rod to expand or contract...We will do this at no charge, while you wait.
  • We will match prices with our competition where we can and stick by what is offered in the previous paragraphs.
  • Should there be any Warranty issues, we will handle any dealings with the distributor, or C.F Martin& Co on your behalf, keeping you updated along the way.
  • Where we can, if the model you want to try is not here in the store, we will organise to get one in for you to try.
  • In short we will go along for "the ride" with you.

The Martin Guitar History

For well over a century and a half, The Martin Guitar Company has been continuously producing acoustic instruments that are acknowledged to be the finest in the world.

The Martin Guitar Company has, through the years, managed to survive with each succeeding generation from C. F. Martin, Sr.’s Stauffer influenced creations of the 1830s to recent developments introduced by C. F. Martin IV. Continuous operation under family management is a feat bordering on the remarkable, reflecting six generations of dedication to the guitarmaker’s craft. In or out of the music industry, C. F. Martin has few rivals for sheer staying power.

Throughout its colorful history, the company has adapted successfully to continual changes in product design, distribution systems, and manufacturing methods. In spite of the many changes, C. F. Martin has never veered away from its initial commitment to quality. The concern for producing the finest instruments possible in 1833 is especially evident today at Martin’s expanded facility in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.

The story behind one of America’s most famous guitars began on January 31, 1796, in Markneukirchen, Germany, with the birth of Christian Frederick Martin, Sr. Born into a long line of cabinet makers, Christian Frederick took up the family craft at the early age of 15, when he left his hometown and traveled to Vienna to apprentice with Johann Stauffer, a renowned guitar maker.
