Circa 1938 Rickenbacher "Model B" Bakelite Steel Blackguards - Sold

Rickenbacher

$2,495.00

Check this out! These are the BEST sounding Steel going around! The pickup is way overwound and has the power to drive Tube Amps nuts...From the Prewar period, these solid, Bakelite Rickenbachers had many variations on the theme, 6, 7, 8 and 10 strings, Chrome, White or Black Pickguard sets and different styles of Tuners etc etc. You may be questioning the spelling of the brand name, but World War 2 was looming and it was soon to become a politically incorrect brand name, causing the company owner Adolf Rickenbacher to change the spelling of his surname to the one we all know. This one is an early series Bakelite lap steel in it's original case, as used by Ry Cooder, David Lindley and many others. Check out how they sound and you'll get the picture. There is "magic" in 'em!
