Resonator & Steel Guitars

Originating in the 1920s as acoustic guitarists sought more volume, the two main makers of resonator guitars - Dobro and National  - were originally one company that ended up with a complicated divorce.  BUT Hawaiian lap style and bottleneck blues sounded so good on these that they've had their own following ever since, morphing into electric lap steel, console steels and pedal steels along the way.
