Setups & Repairs

We're proud of our reputation for pro level set-ups and repairs, based on years of experience with some pretty valuable and rare guitars, as well as amplifiers and associated accessories.

 A professional setup, fret levelling and recrowning etc will put life back into a much loved vintage guitar, as well as optimising playability for a new guitar that doesn't feel 'quite right'.  We handle neck resets on vintage acoustics, all manner of refrets, and approach all finish work using old style materials and techniques.  

Similar story with amps and speakers. We like to use old style USA made Sprague, Ducon etc caps and resistors to keep your amp sounding like it once did or even better. We source and often stock "New Old stock" classic era  tubes if you want them. We don't like putting Asian parts in American made amps, so we keep CTS pots, Switchcraft input jacks, the right types of power and output  transformers, chokes etc.

We can often can save speakers such as Jensen Alnicos from needing to be reconed when others have written them off. Finally, we usually have a pretty good stock of original Vintage, Jensen, Celestion, Lansing, Oxford and Utah alnico and ceramic speakers that might come in real handy for you.
