1963 Fender "L" Series Stratocaster "Fiesta Red" over Sunburst #L06641 - Sold

Fender

$0.00

This fine example of a Fender Stratocaster was ordered through and supplied by Garry Haines "Drumville", here in Adelaide in 1963 and sold as a brand new, Fiesta Red, Fender Stratocaster! It lived its life here in South Australia with that one original owner. Back when it was ordered, there was a new U.K Guitar Hero on the scene called Hank Marvin, who played Lead Guitar with "The Shadows",  famous for using a Fiesta Red Strat, he was the reason the Fender Factory received a lot of orders for this Colour in the early 60's. This Stratocaster is one of them. It is well documented that Leo Fender decreed that in times when there were solid orders for certain Custom Colours, then the Sunburst bodies that were usually stockpiled in the factory, were to be repainted. This is not what Vintage Guitar aficionados, call a "refin", this one left the factory as Fiesta Red and stayed with the original owner from then on folks!

Features, Canadian Rock Maple Neck with "Clay" Dot inlaid, Brazilian Rosewood Fretboard, Original Grey "Lactite" 3 Layer Celluloid Pickguard, Original "Stamford" Case.
