Ordered by and supplied to a company called L. F. Collins Pty. Ltd. in Melbourne. Collins bought quite a few guitars from Martin, this 2-17 was part of a batch shipped on March 26, 1926. Note the Export “Made in U.S.A” stamp high on the back of the headstock. Totally Factory Original and an absolute gem of a Guitar! A "parlour" Style model which is so revered by Blues and Folk Fingerstyle Players...Honduras Mahogany, Top, Back, Sides and Neck, Brazilian Rosewood, Fretboard, Bridge and Headstock Overlay...All time premier CF Martin & Co Tonewoods, both listed on the CITES Treaty as endangered and likely never to be seen used in a major way again...This one is from the era when Martin first Braced their Guitars for Steel Strings, an era when they an ebony neck reinforcement rod and bar frets, which are still present on this one! Fresh from a Pro Neck Reset and ready for the next 100 odd years...Come on in and give it a run, you just might be tempted!
