1964 Gibson J50 #338335

It wasn't until the early Sixties that there was strong distributor for Gibson Guitars in Australia. From what i understand, Harry Landis (and Sons) Music, of Park St Sydney, were the first long term wholesale agents for this American "icon". Around the time they set up an arrangement with the Gibson Company, the previously slow Acoustic side of things suddenly became Big, due to the "Folk Scare" started by Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, The Kingston Trio, Peter Paul and Mary, through to Bob Dylan and Doc Watson. Hence, for the first time Gibson acoustics became a bit more common in here in "Oz". So, this is the sort of guitar you started to see on guitar shop walls and on television here and although rare, not as hard to find as the earlier rare Gibson acoustics in our collection. As a result this fine 50 year old example of a J50 (the natural version of the sunburst J45), is offered at not all that much higher a price to a new one! It is Crack free, there is no need for a Neck Reset, nor has it had one, it is totally original and a  great sounding guitar! All you need is 3 chords and a Gibson Acoustic!
