  •  As I have mentioned in other descriptions. these "Blackface" Amps built from 1964 through 1967, are very different than the Silverface Amps that followed from 1968. Not as heavy, but still not exactly light, not as loud at 80 watts than the latter's 100 watts and not as clinically clean sounding. This era has a Fingerjointed Pine Cabinet, Nickel Plated 16 Gauge Steel Chassis, beautifully constructed USA made Schumacher Transformers, fully handwired, with nice big Capacitors and all of the other things that made Fender Amps from this period such classics. Fitted with Weber replacement Speakers, perhaps the closest speaker to the old Chicago made Jensen's that were often fitted in these classic sounding combo's.
